Mission and philosophy

As a therapeutic bodyworker, I labor out of a deep reverence for our shared human condition. We all experience suffering in our lives. Pain is a messenger, whether it be physical in nature or registers more as mental/emotional disharmony. Not only your psychological form but also your body, becomes hard and rigid through resistance. The body as a whole contracts and your free flow of life energy is greatly restricted.  Stiff joints, loss of mobility, chronic pain along with all physical upset that occurs are neither good nor bad, just experiences that lead us toward greater self-care and awareness. We need to take care of ourselves and attend to, learn from our own bodies. The sustained, tactile nature of massage grounds the individual in their body, inviting and encouraging new interest and investigation in their well-being.

Focused bodywork brings compassion for oneself to the foreground, in essence allowing you room to clear, reclaim and take fresh interest and responsibility for your inner space. Tension, pain, and congestion in the body is akin to static in the body and reflects the habitual resistance we harbor. When our vibrational frequency is strong, the body and mind are harmonized, every cell awakens and rejoices and our flow becomes more orchestrated, less static, more musical. This is why our hearts often sing when we are moving with ease, our stride tall and full, everything connected, the body singing. Whether it be it from a great hike or a massage, it’s this caliber of care that really set your muscles comfortably back on your frame.

My skilled, structured touch is delivered with conscious presence, inviting you to inhabit your body more fully through both deep, effortless breathing and by becoming still and really in your form. Your body loves your attention and responds beautifully in many subtle and obvious ways when you are more aware of your holding patterns and settle into yourself, alert yet soft; tissue responsive as that stressful grip subsides. Mind and body meeting again, integrating and communicating. We often see change in our physical and psychological landscape with regular bodywork as our body chemistry becomes more regulated and we feel relaxed and receptive, capable of taking new steps of change.

Most dis-ease and discomfort creeps in when you are not present in the body. The level of stress you feel on a daily basis essentially robs you of quality time in your skin and slowing down to receive can help you sustain. If the master is not present, then all sorts of shady creatures will take up residence there! Be vigilant, yet soft. Dissolve the past and create no more pain. Be curious and courageous and be well.
